Where each one actually shines
Safawi is a semi-dry date — deep, near-black colour, firm-chewy texture, and it holds up well at room temperature for extended periods. That makes it a strong choice for gifting, hampers, and stock that needs to travel or sit on a shelf for a while without special handling.
Mazafati, our own specialty, is a soft date — moist, dark, almost syrupy at the right ripeness. It doesn't travel or store at room temperature nearly as well as Safawi; it needs refrigeration or freezing to stay in good condition past a few weeks. What you get in exchange is a texture and depth of flavour that a lot of our regular buyers specifically ask for and won't substitute.

A listing that doesn't state where the fruit actually came from is harder to judge on quality, whichever variety it claims to be.
